Gun Control Is Not The Answer

Imagine you sent your child away to college to get an education and build a future for him or herself. Now they have been in college for a while, graduation is near. As a parent you full of joy and are doing preparation to celebrate your child achievements. . Now imagine the horror of hearing that your child had been shot and killed while they were at school. It is difficult to fathom the enormous amount of grief and anger that would flood the body of a person in a situation like this. No one should have to endure such pain. Now imagine how much this pain would be intensified if there was a possibility that the whole incident could have been prevented.
This scene is an all too familiar one in this country. A kid, who for some reason is mad at the world, goes to school with a gun and kills innocent people. If you do not think this could ever happen to you, ask the parents of the victims of the Virginia Tech incident that happened on April 16, 2007. They will tell you they never dreamed it would happen to them either. Is it not reasonable to say that we must do everything we can to prevent this kind of thing from happening.
This tragedy has left many people with some burning unanswered questions. What went wrong? Where was the school security? Where were the school police? The one question that most of us is, what could have happened if at least the teachers had guns? Maybe 33 college students and faculties would not have lost their lives tragically like that. It could have definitely been prevented.
This country was founded on the basis of the people of the country owning guns and use them to fight to protect what they think is right. The constitution gives the people the right to bare arms and protect themselves. Any law against guns should be
unconstitutional.
His name was Sean Taylor, 24 years old and played for the Washington Redskins. Taylor had a lot going for him. He was a rising star; before he started playing for the Redskin Taylor played for the University of Miami where he helped them wind the 2001 national championship. He was drafted number 5 in 20004, and signed an 18 million dollar contract with the Redskins. He was also selected as the 2006 Pro-Bowl. Well, on November 26, 2007 all that came to end.
On Monday November 26,2007 at 1:45 in the morning while at home with his girlfriend and their one year old daughter (Jackie Garcia), when an intruder entered their home and shot Taylor. The next day Sean Taylor was pronounce dead. We are leaving in a world full with lunatics who would not hesitate to shoot you in an instant. How do we protect ourselves from them?
