H.B. Fuller Honduras

The stakeholders in the H.B. Fuller case are customers, employees, the Honduras community, and the Honduras government. The company is responsible to provide high quality products and services to customers, who are in this case shoe businesses, to help them flourish. Consequently, the community will flourish as well. The Fuller customers are providing employment to the people in Honduras. Since H.B. Fuller consumers provide job opportunities to individuals, indirectly Fuller helps to mitigate poverty under the community poor circumstances. Furthermore, H.B. Fuller is responsible to help the whole community of Honduras, including kids who are sniffing the Resistol glue, to flourish but not be harmed. Thus, the affected street kids considered as one of the stakeholders in this case. The company should obey to the Honduras government regulations and law.
As homeless kids are part of the community, the next generation, and the foundation of the community's future, they should be treated well despite the social conditions in their country are poor. The sniffing issue is caused by many parties, including parents, government, and H.B. Fuller Company. From the Fuller firm side, I believe that it is responsible for the health problems that are caused by misusing its glue as long as it is available in that country. I cannot say that the sniffing issue is caused only by the company, but it has a role in this issue and I believe it should solve the dilemma from its side as it is the producer of the solvent based Resistol adhesives in Central America. In the meanwhile as the case states, the company releases a warning and support the education of the dangers of misusing the glue, which I believe are good ethical practices. However, I think that the company has greater ethical responsibilities to help prevent the misuse of its products.
Recommended course of action:
First, the glue sniffing issue appeared in Central America because of the economic conditions in that area which lead to social problems – homeless children. Thus, I believe that the company should have done research on the product and the community circumstances in which the firm is planning to do business before selling any products or providing any services. H.B. Fuller is not honest when it states that it will stop selling the glue, but it continues selling the product to the manufactures who are willing to pay and get the glue in huge tubes.
