Hate Crimes Against Gays (Crt205)

The valuable information I have read and retained from all of the articles I read has made me stop and think about the world around us. The surprising thing is how much society has not changed. The gay marriage is a big issue. On one side you have people going hey if they are happy and in love let them have the same right what is it going to hurt us. On the other side you have religious beliefs and other government issues that say no that’s not right that against gods law. Well I think that if the government is going to take out “in god we trust off” our money, take out “one nation under god” in the pledge of allegiance. The laws state that religion and state cannot have anything to do with one another. . The major issue that I have seen come up is this: if we redefine the laws of marriage out of mere existence society, as we know it will eventually break down. Why should gays and lesbians be married? Why should they not be married? This will be on going debate for many years to come.
A law that protects everyone from a hate crime act. Hmmmm…? See the articles I have read only protect Jews and African Americans. The hate crime act is supposed to punish anyone who commits a violent act against someone. I found out that this law is gender oriented. It dose not protect women that have been sexually assaulted. The argument that is being made by the opponents says if hate crimes are added to the federal law it will just make are judicial system an even bigger mess to deal with. Makes me feel good. Considering that I am sure everyone in the government has a mom. I am sure if one of their mothers had been brutally raped and beaten they would be pushing for this. It goes for homosexuals as well. They need to be protected as well, but it also has been proven that most of the antigay violence has been done by law enforcement officials itself. Homosexuals and Women are not treated fairly. They do not have the same rights as some men and other races. The federal government needs to amend its laws and make it to where it protects everyone equally. When it comes
