Most people will admit that certain areas of their lifestyles could use improvement, but they often put these changes off, make excuses, or can't find the time to do something about them. The problem arises when these areas are ignored too long. Studies show that unhealthy lifestyle habits play a major role and severe illnesses. In the process of trying to build a successful career, raise a family a lot of people overlook their vital needs to relax, eat sensibly, and find time to exercise regularly. Today people use cars to get to any desired destination. Between busy schedules and the pressures of deadlines, lives are filled with commuting, citing at desks, watching movies and television, and eating in restaurants. High technologies created a busy lifestyle conducted by sitting down with almost no physical activity. This produced a busier, but more sedentary lifestyle.
Fitness is an important part of everyday life. Even if people satisfy a regular diet they still need to exercise in order to stay healthy and fit. Without physical activities the body becomes out of shape. The body becomes week and the sense of being able to perform basic physical tasks, or engage in any sports without painful effort. Without any physical activities the bodies become more vulnerable to injuries and diseases, and are less able to recuperate from traumas. According to Margo Harris in "Facts and Feelings about Disease prevention and health promotion." Lack of physical exercise not only contributes to risks for heart disease but also increases the risks of colon cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis and arthritis. Regular physical activity also is linked to improve mental health reducing mild anxiety and depression". (p.3)
Good health means not only freedom from disease, but also a state of complete physical, mental and emotional well being. A healthy person deals better with any work related stress, or all other aspects and demands of life. Helen Barker a community dietician in West Midland suggests that it is very important for people to manage their health and lifestyle by managing a diet, exercising regularly and controlling stress. First in a regular diet people have to choose less fat food, vegetables, fruit, and grains contain complex carbohydrates dietary fiber and other vitamins and minerals, nutrients that are important for a good nutritional well being. (Nutrition and Dietetics) Calcium, phosphorus and vitamin C are all important nutrients for the development of the bones. A vitamin A is a very important vitamin for healthy skin and hair. Making proper food choice is the way to overcome nutrient deficit.
Second important factor in a diet is that smart shoppers read the food labels carefully. Most people avoid caned food and microwaveable packages because they contain a lot of preservatives. "Whole Foods" is a grocery store that sells organic food that contains less fat and less hormones in poultry and meat in general. Last but not least people need to be careful about nitration. California is the only state that regulates the nitration in the food. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) should regulate the nitration in every single state. More law should be enforced in testing and insuring that foods are safe and correctly labeled.
Auriana Ojeda is suggesting when dieting to eat a wide variety of food. In her book "Dieting Basics" she is giving people some healthy tips like: (exercise, drink milk, including fat free food, and drink plenty of water). Most people tend to skip breakfast but studies show that people who eat breakfast do better in school and tend to eat less through out the day. Successful weight control is the ability to control weight over a long period of time is the result of positive lifestyle rather than a simply or specific diet. That is why it is important to be consistent in physical activity. Physical benefits of managing health include having more energy, improving cardiovascular health and having less risk of serious disease. We should no longer ignore the fact that "cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in America, and at least 58 million Americans experience some form of heart disease, because of lack in physical exercise (Introduction to Health p.1).
Regular physical activity can lower people's blood pressure and cholesterol level. Exercise is a good way to build strong, healthy bones and can help slow the bone loss associated with getting older.
