" The Heart of A Leader"
This quarter I was assigned to read "The Heart of A Leader", it was a good little book on leadership skills, and good quotes that was can use in ever day life, they really helped think, and change my views from different perspectives.
There were five lessons that I found to be very helpful in leadership, the first lesson I learned was put in a quote stated, "People who produce good results feel good about themselves". In this lesson it showed me that when people, or even myself accomplish goals it makes us feel better about ourselves. We feel good that we have completed a task. It taught me that in order to be a good leader, I need to help others accomplish theirs goals, and always support and encourage others. So now I have the power to help others in student council become winners and put my talents to use.
The second lesson I learned was "No one can make you inferior without your permission". I can use this in leadership because it helps me realize that I am always going to be criticized, but how I take the information and use it, determines my feelings toward the ideas and input. It is good to learn from your mistakes and not always put yourself down. This is good, because council here's, "No", a lot, so this will be helpful.
The third lesson I chose was "None of us is as smart as all of us". I love this one, in council it will help us realize that working together we can get a lot more accomplished; we can be so much more successful and smarter if we work together as a team. When we work by ourselves the job is only half done, but coming together will really help us accomplish our goals this year.
The fourth lesson "Success is not forever and failure isn't fatal." It means that we should not just always be happy with one accomplishment
