Fire Precautions Act

Health and Safety at Work Act

Electricity at Work Regulations
1. Employers must ensure that the electrical equipment is safe.
2. Employers must also ensure that thee is a procedure in place to disconnect.
3. Equipment must also be protected from adverse weather by employers.
4. Employers must ensure that all electrical equipment is tested.
Noise at Work Regulations
1. Employers must ensure that noise levels are kept down.
2. Employers must provide information and protection for employees.

Management of H&S Regulations

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations

4. These Regulations inform the employers of how long employees are to be exposed to dangerous substances
Display Screen Equipment Regulations
1. Thee state that an employee must be using VDU for a significant part of the day.
2. Eye tests must be given to employees through the employer's expense.
3. Training and instruction must be provided to the employee.
4. In these regulation guidance is given on lighting, adjustable chairs and computers, 5 legs on the chair etc.
Working Time Regulations
1. An adult is seen as 18 years of age.
2. Night work is considered anyone working between 11.00pm and 6.00am.
3. Night workers normal hours do not exceed an average 8 hours in every 24 hours
4. Rest breaks per day are pre set.
