Throughout my life, many different people have meant a great deal of importance in my life, but the most important person that has had the biggest impact on my life has to be my dad. My father has passed down many attributes to me in my lifetime. He taught me how to be hard working, a southern gentleman, a sportsman, and how to live in a Christian manner. Without my dad, I would not be who I am today.
During my childhood, I always felt like my dad was hard on me, but recently I realized why he was tough on me. By being tough on me, I learned about the real world and how you don't get anything for free. Since then I have worked hard for everything I have. He also taught me a lot about values. He raised me to be a good kid and kid who also was centered around my faith.
I can recall countless memories of my father and I in the outdoors. He taught me everything I know about fishing and hunting. I now know everything about what bait to use when fishing and how to shoot hunting rifles. My dad and I would spend countless weekends at our camp in Angie, La. This is where I learned how to clean fish and how to cook them. When we went hunting, he taught me how to sneak through the woods without scaring the deer away, and how to properly clean a deer without missing any part of meat.
My father also taught me everything I know about trucks. Instead of bringing my car to get an oil change, I change it myself. He also taught me many things about the engine, transmission, and how to change flat tires. Now I can do any basic routine check up and maintenance on my truck.
One of the most important things my dad taught me is how to treat a lady. Instead of being a jerk to women, I treat them with respect. He taught me all the basics about holding the door open for ladies, opening the car door for ladies, and how to respond to a lady whenever they make you angry.
I also received my hard working attitude from my father.
