Heroes are often defined as people who possess superhuman capabilities or idealized character traits, which enable him or her to perform extraordinary, beneficial deeds. Pop stars are famous and successful entertainers who play or sing pop music. Teenagers nowadays are crazy over such pop stars and these pop stars are regarded as their idols or even their heroes. So, are pop stars heroes? Pop stars are just normal people with no special capabilities, they do not have special powers to save the weak or fight against the villains. The qualities of pop stars might differ from the qualities of heroes and they are different in many ways.

Pop stars are just people who sing or play music for their own interest and passion or to earn money, as it is considered a job. Pop stars appear on television and produces music discs, which are sold in many countries. However, pop stars are not heroes. Pop stars are just normal people whom are admired and idolized by many people but that do not make them heroes. Heroes are people who perform extraordinary acts. The mark of heroes is not necessarily the result of their action, but what they are willing to do for others and for their chosen cause. Even if they fail, their determination lives on for others to follow. The glory lies not in the achievement, but in the sacrifice. Heroes are also good role models for the people and they encourage people to do good deeds.

Pop stars obviously do not have special powers, neither do they sacrifice for the good of mankind. Pop stars also have bad habits like smoking or drinking, they are not good role models for their fans and they also do not give their fans the motivate to do good deeds. Heroes neither sing nor play music. Thus, pop stars are not heroes; their qualities are entirely different. Their purposes are also different.
