Crest Whitestrips are a popular tooth whitening product created by the company, Procter and Gamble. Since 2001, the product has been sold to over fourteen million consumers, worldwide. Crest sells these strips in more than six different types of models Ð'- each with a specific purpose. The most basic Whitestrips are sold at around $25 USD, and are advertised to whiten teeth in two weeks. However, some of the other models claim to whiten teeth in as little as three days. Effects are supposed to last up to a year after using the application.

"Procter and Gamble is an American global corporation based in Cincinnati, Ohio that manufactures a wide range of consumer goods." (Hoovers) Its European Headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland. Procter and Gamble is the world's number one maker of household products. The company was formed in 1837 by two men: William Procter, a candle maker, and James Gamble, a soap maker. Both were immigrants from England. Coincidently, they married sisters, which was the reason for them to meet. The father of the sisters convinced Procter and Gamble to become business partners, and they would later form their multi-billion dollar company. Over the second half of the 20th century, Procter and Gamble grew significantly, acquiring a diverse product line. Some acquisitions include: Charmin, Folgers Coffee, Old Spice, Max Factor, and Tide. Twenty two of P&G's brands have more than a billion dollars in sale. Crest, the first toothpaste to contain fluoride, made its debut in the year of 1955. Years later, following the start of Crest, the company began producing more products. They included mouthwash, toothbrushes, floss, as well as the popular, Crest Whitestrips.

"Procter and Gamble has sales revenue of $68.222 billion USD." (P&G) The company has hired close to 138,000 employees, with pay ranges from minimum wage to more than twenty five dollars an hour, depending on the position. Other than their European Headquarters stated earlier, the main United States Headquarters remain in Cincinnati, Ohio, at a place called Ivorydale. "Ivorydale is the most historically significant Procter and Gamble production site, as well as one of the largest." (Boulanger) This factory alone has one hundred
