I hope that in our beautiful country of America, we will all one day be created fair and equal. It is my intention to share my thoughts with this nation on how I feel about racial discrimination.
It has gone on too long with the separations of blacks and whites and should stop today! I stand up here today to tell you my wishes and hopefully make a difference in our lives.
I hope that one day, all men, women and children of every race, gender and religion can be treated with all the respect and equality that they all deserve. I hope that people come to the understanding that racial segregation does NOT make sense and I could never see myself treating white people the way that they treat us African Americans. It is inhumane and not right.
I hope that God will be able to guide those who disagree with me into changing their outlook on this problem that needs to be put to a stop, not only in Alabama, not only in Mississippi, but throughout our nation. Our nation that is intended to be our home and our protector, not a place where we are treated poorly because we have dark skin.
I hope.
I hope that when yours and my children grow up, they will not have to go through a first hand experience of racial segregation but only have to look back on the history and realize that they do not have to suffer through what we did.
I hope that people soon will realize that all of this discrimination is not worth all the pain and suffering it is causing to so many undeserving people.
I hope.
I hope that we will be able to go anywhere whether it be in the south or north and not be looked down upon and feel comfortable
