How She Got the Life

Faria , whom are you taking to the ball?’ asked Hermione. They were sitting beside the stairs at the entrance.

‘No one, I don’t want to go to the ball’she said irritatedly. ‘What is the point ? why do I have to take someone with me? And why can’t I go alone?’

‘So, Harry hasn’t  asked you yet?’ asked Hermione.

‘No, besides I don’t even want to go with him.’  She said in a hurt voice.

‘Owh you two!! Anyways I am going with victor krum.’said Hermione

‘Really?????? That’s great Hermione.’

‘I know!!’

‘Do you know Ginny is going with Neville?’

‘He asked her? Wow ,great for them, By the way she told me Malfoy asked you?’

‘Yes he did, I don’t know what he wants from me’ she said in a bitter voice.’ By the way Cedric Diggory asked me too’

‘And?’

‘I said I will tell him later, I really don’t wanna go’

‘Would you stop waiting for Harry.’

‘Hey , No I am not waiting for him, anyways lets go its getting dark outside and we need to do homeworks’

‘Okay let’s go’

‘Hey girls’Harry and Ron were Waiting for them  in the Gryffindor  common room.

‘Hey, so did you find anyone yet?’ Hermione asked Harry and Ron.

‘Not me but Ron is going with Padma  and I asked Cho, the one i really wanted to go with, but she said she is going with Mclaggen, can you believe it?’Harry replied and Faria gasped.’ What about you two?’

‘I am going with someone,  it’s a surprise’ said Hermione.

‘I can guess who it is though’ grinned Harry. ‘But what about me, I have to take someone as I am one of the champions’

‘Faria, why don’t you go with Harry?’ said Ron.

‘Yeah, we can go together , assuming you are not going with anyone?’ asked Harry.

‘Why would you assume that?, I am going with someone’ said Faria and stormed off.

‘What? Who is it?’ asked Harry with surprise.

‘I can’t tell you’ replied Hermione

‘That’s a lie, she is not going with anybody? ’said Harry angrily. ‘She just did it to avoid me’

‘Why would she do that, besides Harry she is really going with someone’ said Hermione calmly.

‘Now what!!!’ Harry groaned.

‘I can ask Padma if her twin sister Parvati can go with you’ said ron.

‘Yes, please’ replied harry.

‘What was that down there?’ Harry asked Ron.

‘What?’ asked Ron

‘I am talking about Faria, she said she is going with someone and wont tell us who is it.’ Said Harry. ‘She never hid stuff from me’

‘Well you might be right, may be she isn’t going with anyone’said ron

‘But why would she do that’

‘I don’t know’

‘Are you two talking about faria ?’asked Neville he just entered the boys dormitory.

‘Yeah ,she said she was going with someone but she didn’t tell us who is it’ said  harry.

‘Well I heard some rumors but I don’t know whether it’s true or not’ said Neville.

‘What rumor?’ asked ron and harry together.

‘Well ,I heard Draco Malfoy asked her’ said Neville.

‘What?!!!’ exclaimed ron and harry together.

‘That can’t be Harry, she would never go with him’ said Ron.

‘May be she is going with him and that’s why she didn’t tell us’ said harry angrily.

‘No, harry no matter what anybody says I wont believe that’

‘I would ask her tomorrow’ said harry.

At girls dormitory:

‘So you are going to say yes to cedric?’ hermione asked faria.

‘I guess yes, I too have right to have fun’faria replied.

‘That’s awesome’ Hermione cheered.

‘But is it right to do, I mean I was angry with harry and that’s why I am saying yes to him’faria asked Hermione

‘That’s totally alright, I mean you cant wait for harry forever and I think he was a bit jealous’

‘I don’t think so, it just hurt his pride.’

‘He likes you too faria, he just needs to know it’

‘Didn’t you hear Hermione he likes cho not me, anyways let’s sleep , good night’

Next morning at breakfast:

‘Where’s faria?’Harry asked Hermione.

‘She is coming, she has gone to say yes to her date’hermione replied

‘What do you mean by that?’asked ron with confusion.

‘Well, her date asked her yesterday but she didn’t answer him right away, she actually didn’t want to go, then she realizes she also deserve to have fun and went to say yes’

‘So, when I asked her, she could’ve said yes but she didn’t ‘ said harry angrily.

‘Harry you didn’t ask her, when you didn’t find anyone then you thought of her, and she was already asked by someone else’ replied Hermione .

‘Whatever’ replied harry.

‘Hey ron , hey harry’ faria joined them. ‘What’s for breakfast?’

‘It’s malfoy isn’t it’ harry yelled at faria all of a sudden.

‘What do you mean by that?’faria asked him.

‘Your date, it is malfoy’

Faria stood up.

‘What if it is ? why do you care?’faria yelled back.

‘I thought we were best friends and you are going with my enemy, the boy who insults you the most’ yelled harry, ‘and when I asked you , you say no, you prefer malfoy over me.

‘You know what harry, I thought that too, but you never cared how I feel, and didn’t you prefer someone else over me?’

‘Owh, now it’s all my fault ,is it,i counted on you’

‘That’s what your fault harry, you took me for granted ‘ she cried,’ Hermione I will meet you in the class, bye ron.’

‘What is wrong with her?’

‘Why don’t you ask it yourself’ replied Hermione.

They entered the class , harry, Hermione and ron sat together but faria wasn’t sitting with them, she was sitting with lavender and parvati. Her eyes were swollen because of crying.

Hermione also wasn’t talking to him. He didn’t understand what wrong he did. And also didn’t understand why was he feeling jealous.when he heard Hermione is going with someone else it didn’t bother him but faria going with someone else did bother him. May be because it’s malfoy.  After c harm class he and ron had free times, so they went to the dark lake. They sat beside it.
