How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

My favorite was the all-time classic Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, or PB &J for short. If you've been overcome by adulthood and need to revisit simpler times, then this essay is for you. Making PB & J's is simple; they're delicious and sure to fill the hole in your stomach and void in your life.

First you need to gather your materials. To successfully complete this you will need one jar of peanut butter (whatever brand and style you like), one jar of jelly (any flavor you like), two slices of bread (again, your preference), a butter knife, and a napkin. Once you have collected these items, you're ready to begin.

Step one is the preparation of the foundation. Unfold the napkin and place it on the countertop. Lay the two slices of bread on top of the napkin, side by side. Make sure the napkin fully covers the surface beneath the bread to avoid any contamination or mess.

Next, unscrew the lid from the peanut butter jar. Using the butter knife, remove approximately two tablespoons of peanut butter. Spread this evenly, across the upper surface of the left-hand slice of bread. Be careful not to spill any, as the peanut butter is sticky and will be difficult to clean up. When finished, replace the lid on the jar, and place in the refrigerator. Also, be sure to rinse the knife clean to avoid cross-contamination in the next step.

After preparing the PB, it's time to move to the J (jelly). Remove the lid from the jelly jar. Using your clean butter knife, remove approximately two tablespoons of jelly from the far. Spread this evenly on the upper surface of the right-hand slice of bread. Again, be careful for spillage. After spreading the jelly, replace the lid on the jar, and place the jar in the refrigerator. Be sure to wipe up any mess that may have occurred; also, wash the knife.
