A Brief History of Jamaica, written by Donna Essix is a brief background on various parts of the history of Jamaica, how the country was colonized and also how it was decolonized. The main purpose of A Brief History of Jamaica is to spread the knowledge about the history and the political events leading up to the decolonization of Jamaica. It also provides information on when and how the country was colonized by the Spaniards. The article goes through a lot of time periods in Jamaica's history but it also goes into a lot of depth in each of these sections. In addition, the article mentions Jamaica's vast slave economy during the Spanish control over the country and also about the Jamaican politics three decades after the decolonization. A Brief History of Jamaica has one main limitation, which is that none of its facts or research has any evidence to say that it is true, creating a doubt in your mind about whether what you're reading is factual or not. Also, seeing as it was written by a Jamaican national on a website about Jamaica, what the reader has written in the article might be biased. However, there is no evidence to prove that is true in any way.

Jamaica - History, run by an organization called Country Studies, is a long and in-depth summary of Jamaica's history from when Columbus arrived to when the British left. This particular article is not very easy to read since the language is more challenging and it is a much longer piece of writing.
