Do you ever find yourself cramming during the last few hours before an important exam or assignment? Perhaps you’re suffering from a mild case of arthritis from researching the internet or typing nonsense without a clear thought? Well, in this process essay I’m about to write, I would like to give you some key points in writing an efficient essay in a short period of time. First and foremost, I want to make it clear that a good paper often takes longer than two hours. In fact, as we all know, many papers take days to complete. Find a quiet place to concentrate, such as a library or a study room. This will eliminate any noise or temptation to do anything else besides your paper. Try to minimize all distractions as you are given a limited amount of time, not talent.

Second, you want to pick a topic of choice for your paper. Know it-and know it well! Be sure to write about something that you are familiar with. Remember, there is no time for you to do much research. The topic must be somewhat interesting to you and to the reader as well. Otherwise, your reader will lose interest and the time you spent writing your work will be time worth wasted. In my case, I found myself at many deadlines with my own papers. Due to this, I find that writing a paper on writing papers in short amounts of time is a good example to follow.

Our third step to abide by is to create an outline. This can include any type of diagram, such as a spider diagram or a formal outline. Using this method allows you to form a solid structure for your paper. In your outline, you can separate your thoughts as well as divide up your paper. I’m sure you are fully aware of a paper having three essential parts: an introduction, which includes your thesis statement, the body, and the final conclusive evidence- your conclusion. You want to be able to brainstorm any valid material including facts, opinions, or claims that support your work and your thoughts. Another beneficial aspect in using an outline is creating an order whether it is sequential or chronological. If you actually read this far into my essay, you will notice I use key words such as, First, second, and so on. A sufficient outline provides a guideline to put your thoughts in sequential fashion.

At this point you should be knee deep in your own thoughts and ideas, so do not forget this: Be creative! It’s your work, so take pride in it. If you have chosen the right topic you should have much to say and be able to avoid writer’s block. Be sure to elaborate, as you are not merely repeating dry, boring facts. A good friend at this time is the thesaurus. Remember this shortcut: shift + F7. I admit it’s a minor substitute for creativity, but it will help you choose the best words to project your message clearly. When referring to the word “creative”, I had the opportunity to replace it with words like innovative, original, imaginative, artistic, inventive, artsy, or productive.
