How to keep peace in a relationship
A relationship is likely one of the best and exciting parts in your life. Keeping peace with a partner is such an easy yet complex thing. It requires time and patience. Keeping peace in a relationship is not rocket science but it does require thinking and caring about someone else as much as you think and care about yourself. Keeping peace and harmony in a relationship requires understanding how to accept and give an apology, communicating effectively, and learning to let things go.
In this paper I will give you step by step instructions of how to not only keep peace in a relationship but keep a relationship strong and lasting. First, you must find peace within yourself. Peace is a thing that come naturally but so many have a challenging time understanding or obtaining. The definition of peace is freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility. Therefore, to have peace in a relationship you must not allow someone else to come in between you and the person you have a relationship with. In addition, to have peace with someone one must have complete trust in them.
Trust is an earned thing that is a step by step process. One must allow another to come into their life and start by hanging out and becoming comfortable with them. To become comfortable with someone, you need to do things together to learn about them. To have peace you need to go shopping, go to the movies, go to dinner and really get to know someone’s qualities. The more you do with your partner the more you grow a bond and have a solid foundation.
Trust also comes hand in hand with honesty. To have trust you must have honesty. Honesty, is something that is such an important thing in relationships. Trust is something that once lost is very hard to ever earn back. To keep peace, one must always be honest. By being honest I do not mean telling your girlfriend or wife that in fact her dress does make her look fat. I mean being honest by communicating with the truth rather than lies.
If you still haven’t had a peaceful relationship after these steps, you’re probably going to be considering how to give a sincere apology. One must know that sometimes an apology is more than just admitting you were wrong it is letting the other person know that you care about them and their feelings. You must know that their forgiveness is not required and it may take additional time. Keeping peace in a relationship involves always caring about another’s thoughts. Many times, people in a relationship have a very hard time putting someone before them and understanding that different things affect people in separate ways. An apology starts with getting the person alone and sitting down with them, then, you must explain that your point of view and express that you value their feelings and opinion. You must make the other person feel as if you don’t want something little to ruin their friendship or relationship. Also, you must know that apologies must always be done in person to make it sincerer. Next, the person must agree to forgive and end the apology with a hug or kiss. One must remember that an apology is only sincere if someone can see the others point of view and understands that they are wrong. Apologizing is never an easy thing and once someone gets over the fear of being wrong and can apologize a relationship will reach its peak and be able to expand beyond belief.
When you first get to know someone, things can be very hard and not knowing how that person likes to do stuff is where the challenging aspect of a relationship comes into play. To have a strong relationship you need0. to be able to tell someone when something is wrong or bothering you. I learned throughout the years that if you want a relationship to last you need to communicate sooner rather than later. Humans tend to hold in their emotions and then let it all out at one time. That is a prime example of what not to do when you’re in a relationship. Keeping peace is such an easy thing if you let the other person know how you feel and what is going on. The foundation for a relationship is communication.
