Internal Recruitment:
Is by promoting employees from within an organization to fill a vacant position, communicated to the employees by email, intranet posts and fliers. This type may be a temporary by asking an employee to fill certain tasks for a period of time or may be a permanent.
External Recruitment:
Is by searching and recruiting employees from outside of the organization to fill the vacancy.
By using advertisements in newspapers, job search websites, job fairs and referrals from current employees. (Applegate, c2016)

Advantages of Internal Sources
1. Improves morale:
Recruiting from inside the organization to a higher position helps in increasing the morale of all employees. Because each one will expect to get a higher post in the company in some day.
2. No Error in Selection:
Less errors in the selection process because the employee is well known and company has a complete record of the employee maintained in the archive
3. Increase the Loyalty:
Employees feel that they have high chances and opportunities to fill vacant within the organization, therefore, their loyalty will increase
4-No Hasty Decision:
The employees will be selected depending on their activity and performance and can be relied upon
5. Economy in Training Costs:
Because the internal employees have information and ideas about the company policies, operating procedures, therefore they don’t need training or may need a little training in the fields they are not familiar with, which save the high cost of training
6. Self-Development:
Give a push to other employees to continually develop themselves to be eligible or fit for new higher posts in the future.
Disadvantages of Internal Sources:
1-Decreas the chance of recruiting and joining of talents and capable persons from outside
2-May be the required number of persons who are qualified to fill the vacant posts not available in the organization.
3-This type of recruitment is not suitable when there is need for recruitment of innovations and creative thinking people.
4- An employee my fill a vacant post by recommendation and not suitability which may lead to nepotism and favoritism.
Advantages of External Sources:
1. Availability of Suitable Persons:
Because a large number of candidates will apply for a certain job this will give the chance to select the most suitable one who fulfill the requirements.
2. Talents pool and Bringing experience and Ideas:
Recruiting from outside of the company give chance to persons with wide experience to join the company who will be able to suggest new things and methods that will keep competitiveness in the company
3-Motivation:
Recruiting fresh talent from the outside Play a role in motivate of the current employees for higher performance and achievement more, in hopes of obtaining the next promotional opportunity.
4- Keep Diversity:
External candidate recruitment will increase the chance of finding a highly qualified and skilled candidate, and also keep the diversity requirement in work place.
Disadvantage of External Sources:
1. Damage Employ Moral:
The old or present employees feel demoralized because they thought the these positions should be filed by them as a normal right of being an old employee which may result in disappointment and cause some employees leave the organization to another one.
