This assignment represents the results from the study of the Human Resource policies and procedures of Starbucks Corporation in the UAE. I have focused on identifying their Human Resource policies and their selection and recruitment process for the new stores they are opening in the near future.
Brief Purpose of Study
The main purpose of the assignment is to identify the human resource policies of Starbucks and suggest adequate selection and recruitment options for their expansion plan, thus achieving their mission and then finally their vision.
The following are the contents of the assignment in brief:
I. Firstly a small introduction to the company and its history and also the products offered by them to the customers.
II. Stating what are Starbucks Corporations vision and mission for the future.
III. Next we look at the company's external environment or most commonly known as the PEST Analysis.
IV. After which we analyze the internal strengths and weakness and the threats and opportunities that the company has to face.
V. Then there is a brief analysis of the company's resources (Resource Audit).
VI. The next step is to find the industry attractiveness using Porter's 5 forces.
VII. A brief summary of all the results that are accumulated after conducting the above analysis. This includes Starbucks Corporation's strengths and what they need to do for the future.
VIII. Then a brief look at the Human Resource policies and procedures that Starbucks and its employees follow.
IX. Then we look into the Human Resource Planning for Starbucks which includes job analysis, job description and job specification of the employees that need to be recruited for the new stores.
X. The next part shows the recruitment costs and recruitment sources.
XI. Then there are detailed steps of the selection process.
XII. Finally, a recommendation report is generated and produced to Starbucks Corporation.
Following after the recommendation is the bibliography and appendix respectively.
