1. What is the involvement of the HR department, particularly in HR planning regarding the expansion?
In determining how many staff are needed regarding the expansion. HR management activities need to be planned to answer the question: "Where is our organization going and how will it get there?"
2. What should Ben do with the proposed expansion?
Ben should talk Mr. Thomas about the proposed expansion, that he already heard the plan in order to make a necessary action according to the plan. Objective must be the first to establish to make a necessary action align to it.
3. What should have been done prior to the meeting on the proposed expansion?
A collaboration between HR and executive leaders have been done prior to the meeting on the proposed expansion so that HR can heighten concerns about where existing employees fit into the expansion plan or a need to recruit will arise.
HR is a "revenue-impact" department even if HR isn't a revenue-generating department. For example, illustrate the strategic value of HR in proving that an investment in recruitment activities yields better-qualified workers. A better-qualified workforce translates into higher revenues, thus showing that HR operations affect business revenue. Therefore, a communication plan about business goals should coincide with HRP.
4. What should be done so that nobody will be caught by surprise in the future?
As with any major business change, the key to keeping your team on side as you expand your business is communication. If your efforts to grow your business are to succeed, you must keep your employees in the know of what is happening -what will become of them, how their roles will change,
