"Right" Is Not A Word Heard Often
What is a right? The dictionary defines a right as: the power or privilege to which one is justly entitled. Rights are simply natural rules every person should live by to ensure happiness and fairness in our society. The rights that most hold true to the heart are the right of property and right of religion.
The right of property is a touchy subject to most people because it can mean so many different things; it holds a deeper meaning to some than to others. Freedom of property means that one is entitled to own as much or little property as one wishes and use it in such a manner that is not illegal. Property is sacred in the eyes of the beholder. However, in today's society, freedom of property is being downgraded simply to paperwork in the form of a property deed. Property is passed down through generations in some families. Some can trace their ancestry back to a farm that is now a subdivision. Property ties to God in some people's eyes. Take the Amish for instance. The Amish believe that the land they own is a direct connection to nature and to God. Amish believe land has no price tag and that no one person should own it. In Amish society, land is to be used for ones life span and then given back to the earth. It is a right in their eyes to use the land. However, the American government believes differently. The government believes land is paperwork and potential money. The government has no emotional attachment to land like that of an individual. All the government worries about is if deeds are correct, and taxes are paid.
The government claims people have had the right of religion for generations, but the facts would deviate from that statement. Seeking freedom of religion has caused debt and death. Most of the world spends billions of dollars on religion without even realizing it. How? War is the biggest way governments spend money, and most wars start over religious struggles. Country leaders
