My Hunting Experience
After being in raccoon state park on Monday, November 26 I found out that hunting isn’t always a fun hunting experience. The weather conditions were terrible and it limited hunting abilities for all hunters. Hunting is not always a fun experience; it can be a miserable one to.
The first problem to my experience was the weather conditions. It was a non stop rain the whole time. When it rains it makes it hard to hear the deer moving around and trampling on branches and leaves. The rain acts as a cover for them. Also when it rains, the deer don’t like it and they tend to bed down and not move around which narrows your chances to see one. The temperature was in the low 40’s with the rain so it was cold and miserable.
Another problem for me was that I only saw 1 deer the whole time I was hunting. I could hear gunshots across the valley, so obviously there was deer around, but not by me. When there are gunshots, the deer usually get scared and it pushes them to move around so I thought they would get pushed the opposite way towards me. Usually after being the woods for 5 hours you should see anywhere from 15-20 deer, but the conditions just made it miserable for them to want to move around.
Everyone knows that November is deer season and that you see a lot of deer. But on Monday the only animal I saw around was squirrels. I had to of seen at least 15 squirrels. If only the squirrels would have been deer I would have had a field day. Another thing that made me mad was that there was a hunter that was posted in a fort to my left then after a little while he kept walking back and forth in front of me which could have scared the deer from me to.
So maybe next time I go out and hunt I will have some better luck or maybe even some better weather conditions. There is still a couple weeks left in the season so hopefully can pull something
