1You've got to be joking!
We can put man on the moon / We can cure some of the most deadly diseases
But we are held to ransom over the rising petrol prices because we have come to rely so heavily on vehicles as our main form of transport.
2Petrol prices are going through the roof. Aren't there any alternative forms of transport we can use in our daily lives? What about our legs! How many times do we get a lift or catch a bus to where we are going. If we take the time to plan, we could walk. What a result that could have for all of us.
3There is no pollution from using your legs. There is no money required. We are constantly reminded to include exercise into our daily routine - what better way than to walk.
4How about riding a bike? Many councils have even included a cycle track on the road. This is surely meant to encourage us to leave our cars at home and rely on pedal power.
5Public transport is a more fuel efficient way of getting around, but the real problem is that we use our cars way too much. Wouldn't you think that by now, man would have invented cars that do not pollute the way most cars do?
6Wouldn't you think that by now we would be conscious of using the earth's natural resources and turn away from oil and petroleum?
7I'm happy to say that scientists of today have been able to put their designs to the test. We can now make a choice to run a car that addresses the petrol crisis.
