Our ultimate aim is to identify and match fingerprint so as to authenticate many transactions or access. Some common things include access doors, logins, etc.Lets break it into three parts.
1.Hardware
2.Software
3.Function/Integration
Speaking about Hardware, well its really difficult to say at this stage now. I have done some Google searches. We are still undecided whether the processing should be done onboard or with the help of PC. Embedded processing will be much painful to accomplish. And therefore to start, lets assume we are interfacing the sensor with the PC. Any language is welcome. Matlab, C#, C++, VB.Net, Java. Because I am a firm believer of Algorithms than language dependent syntaxes. My preferred language is C#, VB .NET. I have no clue about MatLab, but I really look forward in learning it. And above all, even if this project Is not completed the way we expect it to, we will be learning a lot. Lastly, is the function. It’s the implementation of our software combined with any database for doing some authentication. For now, we should concentrate only on Fingerprint identification algorithms. Then once we reach some stage in that we will move on and then to some other.
For Now, I have made four sections : Overview, Sensor, Matlab, Identification. Overview will consist of subpages including ToDo, Tasks Assigned, and Message Exchange. Sensors will contain any information relating to the Sensor (that scans the fingerprint). Identification will contain all the algorithms/programs that is needed to identify/match 2 fingerprint.
One Note is a great tool. Any one is free to edit whatever you want. But do not delete any. If there is no arguments, I myself would like to moderate the notebook. So if any changes are to be made, please "strike" and write your changes in some other color so that
