I. Attention catcher: I happen to share one of the biggest idols with millions of people around the world and in January he shined like no other star on a Sunday night in Miami.
II. Listener Relevance: We all have someone in life we admire; some of us have more than one idol.
III. Speaker credibility statement: As you listen to my speech, I will introduce you to my idol and for those of you who already know who he is, I hope you will learn something new about him.
IV. Thesis statement: Today, I'd like to inform you a little bit about my idol, Indianapolis Colts captain and quarterback, Peyton Manning.
V. Preview: More specifically, I'll talk about his career and his achievements in football.

I. First main point: Peyton Manning's NFL career
A. Manning holds a number of individual career records.
B. He is the only quarterback in history to make every start of his career since being
drafted.
Transition: Now you know who Peyton Manning is so let me tell you a little about what he has achieved during his career with the Colts.
II. Second main point: Peyton Manning has accomplished many great things in his professional life as the Colts best quarterback.
A. He was named the Colts MVP for two consecutive years.
B. He's made seven Pro Bowl appearances.
