Ilha Formosa: time stops here

Almost every city has its theme. Shanghai is famous for its impressive architectures, Paris is known as the capital of fashion, Belgium’s chocolate top the world. But talking about Taiwan, it may take a little while to connect the dots. What is Taiwan famous for? Nothing symbolic. Tired of all the magnificent landmarks and stereotyped ancient towns? Taiwan is a place where you can truly have a rest. There is neither harsh winter nor steamy summer, neither crowded tourists nor commercialized scenic spots, only the passion you can enjoy any time during your stay here. The local people describes Taiwan as a city of beauty, not only grace. There is so much fun when I spend my time there, melting in its beautiful scenes, food and individual culture.

Thinking of the most beautiful moment of a day, it might be watching the sunrise by the sea. I will be totally attracted by the charming seaside and the warm smell of the gentle breeze. Looking at the reflection of the sky in the sea, it seems that the whole world is filled with entire blue. By the sea there is joy and in the city there will be surprise. Looking at the magnificent 101 building standing in Taipei, I just can’t help thinking of a bird’s-eye view from the top of it. As one of the most famous place in Taiwan, there will be a fireworks show on December 31st for people to enjoy the extreme beauty and welcome the coming year.

As I know, the views will be more charming with the company of delicious foods. The night markets must be the best choice to have some snacks. Walking through the busy street, all you will feel is passion. With the smell of delicious food, it will be like walking in paradise, leaving behind nothing but stressful thoughts.

Meanwhile, there is splendid culture in food. For instance, the Chenghuang Temple located in Hsinchu city which was set up in 1748 owns the most delicious meat balls in Taiwan. Besides food culture, there are also some individual ethnic groups and heritages waiting for you to explore.
