A family is a group of people who live together. They don't have to be related. A family can be defined as many different things. A "nuclear" family consists of a mother, a father and 2 or 3 children. An "extended kin" consists of grandparents, aunties and uncles. A family could also be classed as a group of friends that share a flat or house.

It is important to look after children because when they are born a child can't do anything for itself, until about the age of 4 a child starts to do things for example wash, dress, feed and go to the toilet alone. When a baby is born, it is born egocentric, this is where they believe themselves to be the centre of everything that takes place around them. A child has t be taught the rules of society and their place within it.

Sexual activity is important to control because its not right for example a 12 year old to go around having sexual activities. Also at an age under 16 you don't really know everything you need to know about sex for example contraception, STD's and other risks that come with the responsibility of such an activity.

Children need to be taught how to behave because as the child gets older and realizes that it can't have it, the child needs to know that having a temper won't get it for them. Also if you go some where like a restaurant for example with a child, you want them to behave by sitting and eating pleasantly and a child screaming and throwing food isn't right and civilized. It will show you and themselves up if a child was to behave like that.

People like to help each other because it gives you a sense of satisfaction, for example you feel happy knowing that doing something simple is helping another person and means a lot to them. Also if you have the time to help someone, you like to think that they would help you if you needed it. Also people will recognise that you are a
