This assignment is based on the critical analysis of communication skills twoLeaders of differentTrades:-

The above leaders are very important people with strong personal attributes. People follow these personalities in their lives. They have strong influence on the people with their personality and effective communication skills.

Further, we will discuss more about their communication skills, styles and their effectiveness.

Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi (CEO and Chairperson, PepsiCo)

Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi, CEO and Chairperson of world’s fortune 500 company Pepsico. She was born in Chennai, India on 28 October 1955.Now, she is an American citizen. She is headingthe world’s second largest food and beverage business in the world with impressive revenue.She is continuously ranked among the world’s 100 most powerful women in 2014 and was listed in Forbes list on 13th rank among world’s 100 most powerful women.

She began her career in India as a Product Manager with Johnson and Johnson and worked with numerous brands. After working as a senior Vice President, Marketing Department, Asia Brown Boveri and Director cum Vice president, Motorola, in 1994, she has joinedPepsiCo, and became President and CFO in the year 2001.She became the fifth Chief Executive Officer in the 44year’s history of PepsiCo, in 2006.

After Joining PepsiCo as CFO, as per the BusinessWeek, she has raised the revenues by 72% and she has doubled the profit to $5.6 billion up until 2006.

She has achieved a lot in her career and bagged so many awards and accolades from various Government and Business bodies. In the year 2007, she bagged the most honourable award by the Government of India, Padma Bhushan.In the year 2008, a glorious year, she was named among the America’s Best Leaders by U.S. News and World Report, in the same year she was elected as Chairman of the United States India Business Council (USIBC), in the same year; she was elected as a Fellowshipin American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In the year 2009, she was honoured as a Chief Executive Officer of the year by Group of Global Supply Chain Leaders.

Communication Style of Indra Nooyi

Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi adds communication among the Five C’s in Leadership. She introduces five C’s as competence, courage, confidence and a strong moral compass.She has a belief that all the five C’s are wasteif we don’t have strong communication skills.According to her, if someone is innovative and is not able to discuss what he/she is having it would not be productive. In Indra’s point of view, communication skills are the vital part in leadership and she also did communication training to improvise her skills and abilities. She always carry those skills when she is appearing in public and leaves a remarkable impact on both business associates and customers.

        As per FarnazNamin- Hedayati, Ph.d, Indra is too much concerned about communication and she has created a blog for direct communication with employees, Pepsico with posts every week.

        Forbes stated that Indra Nooyi always win by her communications skills and is kind with all the employees of the company. This only happens when a person communicates with full emotion and gratitude toward whatever one is doing or delivering.

  1. Verbal Communication skills:- She is very much confident with her topic which is going to deliver and use body language to express things very well with a great smile on her face. She is professionally acquire excellent communication skills as communication is not just about speaking, it is about delivery dialogues with expressions so that one can understand clearly.

  1. Non Verbal Communication Skills:-  It’s very difficult for someone to have Non- verbal communication skills but Indra Nooyi acquire quite well as she gives exactly right kind of expressions when she is listening to someone with a smile on her face and carries an active body language.

  1. Written Communication: - She is maintaining a blog to communicate with her employees continuously, so it is clearly understood that she is having very good written communication to connect with her employees effectively. There are so many examples at (www.forbes.com) about her written communications, with that she solves so many issues related to professionally s as well as personally.

William Jefferson Bill Clinton, (Wikipedia states that), is politician of America. He worked from 1993 to 2001 as the 42nd President of the United States of America. He was the third youngest president of America at the age of 46. He took office at the end of the Cold War, and was the first president from the baby boomer generation. Clinton has been described as a New Democrat Many of his policies have been attributed to a centrist Third Way philosophy of governance. Before becoming president, he was the Governor of Arkansas for five terms, serving from 1979 to 1981 and from 1983 to 1992. He was also the state's Attorney General from 1977 to 1979.
