-Individual interviews: “Digitally mediated art”

-Hello,I'm doing a report about “Digitally mediated art”. I want to focus in events such as operas, concerts or ballet that are broadcast on the big screen. Hve you ever been to such an event?

+Yes, when i saw the musical “Mamma mia” when it was adapted into a movie.

-Do you like it?

Yes, it was fun to relive all the songs of Abba that is one of my favourites musical group. It was very interesting how the story of the movie was adorned with songs.

-In general, do you like opera, ballet, concerts?

In my case, I find boring opera and ballet. I rarely go to concerts, only when it comes to the city some of my favorite singers.

-Do you think “digitally mediated art” is a good technology development?

Yes, because I think it's a way to enjoy these types of events with a higher quality.Besides, using DVD you can enjoy as many times as you want for a concert of your favorite musical group.

-What do you think is the most important in such an event/show?

Feel identify with songs, feel one more into the show, actors or singers encourage you and excite you.

-What is the difference between a life show and digitalized one?

In life show is more natural. You enjoy the live voice of the singer. On the other hand, in life shows you have worse vision and sound quality than when you watch it in a DVD or cinema.

-What is the difference between going to the cinema and watching it on a laptop/TV?

The main difference is in cinemas cost money and watch it on TV or laptop it doesn't cost money. Also, screen size is bigger in cinemas so you can enjoy more quality of the event than if you watch it through TV or laptop.

-What is the biggest influence when do you want to go to see these events(tastes, proximity of event, brand image)?

I consider very important brand image because if a famous singer or a main event come to my city I see it as a unique opportunity to go and I will pay a big amount of money or even if it is far from where I live I would make an effort to go.

-What are you ready to pay for?

It depends of the type of event. If it is one doesn't interest me but it is for spending time with friends I would reach ten euros. When it comes one of my favourite singers or is a single event I would be willing to reach forty o fifty euros.

-What type of product( live show, digitalized show,DVD) you would rather buy?

I like to collect DVDs about movies and concerts. When I'm bored I sit in my couch and it is very comfortable to watch it.

-How do you usually find out about these events?

I usually find out through internet(social media), advertisements, in meetings with friends, radio ads.

-What kind of DVDs do you like to buy?

I like to buy my favorite movies to watch them again whenever I want. I also like to buy DVD on historical concerts of my favorite musics groups. I really like Rolling stones, Queen, Inxs and unfortunately they don't give live concerts now so the only way to enjoy concerts again is through DVDs.

Analysis

-What were the main difficulties you faced while carrying out the interviews?

The biggest difficulty was trying to keep the conversation flowing because it is a topic that people don't know it. Besides, the answers I have received are very short.

-Why people would ho to a digitalized show?

I think a digitalized show is usually cheaper than a live show. Also, it is important the location because you have more accesibility to go a cinema where is broadcast a digitalized show or is easier to buy a DVD of any show than go to a live event. In addition, simplicity is another of the characteristics of a digitalized show. To sum up, video proximity is another advantage of digitalized show because allow you enjoy the show with a higher quality of picture and sound.
