Is it a Congress Case?
Everybody knows how big sports have become in United States. Every street, city or state has teams which are involved playing sports. Sports in last ten years have become living or priority to make money. Money is everything in sports; it is no longer to play for favorite team or pride of honor. The trick is in order to be good, because not everyone is natural made, is to take advantage of illegal items, which gives you advantage over other clean players. The big question is who is responsible to check the durries and steroids players. Should the league be responsible for their sport and players? The most recently Major League Baseball has become headline for Congress to clean out steroids or HGH from baseball. If the league has not done anything in the past with steroids takers then why is it becoming an issue now to congress? However, our Congress has dug a hole to throw all the HGH takers and make them bad role model. At this moment, Mitchell Report in finding players who took steroids from 2000 to present.
The player who confessed has closed their story in about one or two day's news in ESPN. But one who want to argue that they did not take HGH to be better or recover injuries then they have to face Congress. On December 13, 2007, Clemens' name was listed in the Mitchell Report, which alleged that he had used steroids and HGH during the 1998-2001 seasons. Although he has firmly denied these accusations, his former teammate and good friend Andy Pettitte provided a sworn deposition to the US government that confirmed allegations of Clemens' use of Human Growth Hormone. I personally believe Roger Clemens have taken steroids and HGH during 1998 -2001 season. During those seasons everyone knows what kind of performance he presented in baseball. It was outstanding at that time but now baseball fans are waiting results from Congress and proof that he did take substance that made his game performance better. He is top in history in streak outs, games won and played even games won in one season which was 20, never happened in baseball history. His allegations does not yet, people believe to be wrong but what if he has taken the substance and wasted all this Congress and media time hiding what he did was wrong. Some people or his fans believe Clemens did not take steroids because there was no need. Before the years he being named with allegation, he has been award five times CY Young Award. So, does this mean he is good with and without taking substances; then why did he take it if congress proof's that Clemens took HGH and steroids? There are a lot of question that needs to be answer because the stats created by Roger Clemens are Hall of Fame numbers so, if he not convicted then he will definitely ahead to Hall of Fame without any doubt or question. For media this is magnanimous story because the Clemens' case either Brain McNamee or Clemens is lying to Congress under oath also testified.
The new question rises about the lying to Congress punishment. When the Mitchell Report came out which was about 400 pages long with 83 active players list with involvement of banned substance, players were called to testify. The player who spoke truth were let go with accepted apologize. The player like Andy Pettitte of New York Yankees apologizes, but is it a big deal. According to ESPN, on Monday February 18, 2008 he apologized for using HGH and for not telling the whole truth. He did what he was supposed to do as a human being and fessed up o his wrong doing. Yet several articles and callers to sports talk shows seem ready to canonize the left hander as though he performed some miracle in coming clean. Pettitte I believe does deserve some credit for doing what many of his peers are either unwilling or unable to do, but let's think about this situation. It's was not like Pettitte came forth on his own to admit his HGH, he came forth when the Mitchell Report named him as one of the numerous steroids users. If the Mitchell Report did not take place and Brain McNamee did not speak out, none of the steroids stories would have come our nor Pettitte may not ever admitted his wrong doing. After all, it had been nearly six years since he supposedly first took HGH. All this time he was behind
