Fairytales. Commonly known as bed time stories, are what most children are brought up on. They are fictitious yet proved to be quite the thing for youngsters to fall asleep to. FINISH THE REST OF THIS!!!
Brad Pitt &r Angelina Jolie, is it official?
Unbelievable! The media is in its prime for making money. Every shred of information that a reporter finds out about anyone who is even slightly known by the public, gets twisted and turned into an important headline.
The media tends to be generating a perception of celebrities as though they are leaving one big happy life, just like in a fairytale. For example, is has been suggested or more so presented to the public that Angelina Jolie stole Jennifer Aniston's husband and is man hungry. Throughout and article in The Woman's Day, issue 18, page 21, the reader was positioned to feel as though she was wicked witch who all she would like to do is ruin a happy family. This could be related to Sleeping Beauty, where the witch intends to kill Sleeping Beauty, and ruin her family happiness. The Values, Beliefs and attitudes, which underpin traditional fairytales, are perpetuated by the cult of celebrity, which exists in popular culture today.
Attention is a limited resource. There is just so much information we can process at any given time. Given the volume and speed of information bombarding us each day the importance of taking time to think should not be underestimated. The unusual thing is that no-one will have trouble recalling their favourite fairy tale they were told when he/she was a child. Tales like Little Red Riding Hood are those in which are very hard to forget.
