I decided to choose a video about John F. Kennedy, and his speech about the separation of church and state. After watching the video, it is easy to tell that his tone was very bold and firm. His word choice gave the opinion that he was strict on his opinion on what he believes what America should be and that he did not care what others said by the boldness of his tone. This speech was another step to ensure that we would have the freedom to choose any religion that we decide to follow. A written version of the speech, I believe would not have the same effect. Words do not always carry across the same feeling or tone as that of spoken words. If a writer would write a version of the speech about the separation of church and state delivered by John F. Kennedy, then the writer would have to use good word choice to give the reader the same feeling as if the reader was hearing it. His body language was relaxed, but the look on his face showed that this was an issue that we was both concerned and firm about. He was emotional in his speech, by the way his voice raised at certain points and by his facial expressions. I did not find the speech to be as persuasive as it was powerful. At that moment in time, a very persuasive speech would change views in Americas’ religious aspect.
