On September 11, 2001, the unthinkable happened. Terrorist attacked the former invincible United States. There were many rumors going about during America's recovery. One of the most controversial was that the U>S may have helped to create the forces behind the 9/11 bombings. So the only question left to ask is, did the United States have anything to do with the 9/11 bombing?

One writer provides evidence of the United States playing a role in the bombing of 9/11 "America's Jihad: A history of origins." Christian Parenti wrote the article. Parenti tells the reader in order to understand America's new war on terror you have to figure out why the United States has nourished Islamic military networks. From 1979 to 1992 America gave at least three billion dollar to the Mujahedeen, fighting the Russians. America was one of the two strongest nations. The other nation was the USSR (Soviet Union.)

In 1978, the president of Afghanistan Sadar Mohommed Daud was over thrown by communist off years. The new government eliminated the majority of Afghanistan tribal leaders remaining tribal leaders noticed the Democratic Republican receiving support from the Soviet.

The United States saw these scattered rebellions as an opportunity to end the Soviets power. Wasting no time the U.S. began to aid these rebellions. Three events occurred in 1986 that lead into the global Jihad. The U.S. gave the mujadeen stringer anti aircraft missile. The U.S. also approved Pakistan's Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) to send armed expeditionary forces into the USSR penetrating the red bear. Two years later there were recruit centers almost everywhere including New York, Detroit, and San Francisco.

The ISI had requested Bin Laiden to coordinate logistics for the Mujandeen, building infrastructure, dishing out funds and help fighting the war. The same Inter-Services Intelligence agency received support by America. The U.S. might as well have been sending money to Bin Laiden. Although U.S. may have not been aware that they of who else they supported, their main objective was to eliminate the USSR and think of the consciences later. One of America's leaders supported this fact. When Zbgniew Brezinski was asked if he regrets the Afghanistan war, he replied, "what is more important the collapse of the Soviet Empire or some stirred up Moslems?

The CIA and ISI encouraged all Muslim states to got to war against the Soviet Union. At last 100,00, foreign Muslim radicals influenced by the Jihad war. Many of these Muslims were convicts in their home countries.
