The company’s main network that connects each location together is T3 Dedicated line WAN. The network inside each location is 100 Base T Ethernet. The lines look like a bus topology which will need to be upgrade to star topology. Switching over to star topology will let the data flow to the device that needs the information instead of all the devices getting some of the data. Adding switches to the network will also help with the flow of data packets. The switches will use VLAN to connect each department together. For example sales department for all locations can be connection so that they can communicate together and share their information. Having firewalls and antivirus will help to secure the network including and cloud services that they may have. Adding some access points will help so that they can use WI-FI and have that same access throughout the company. They will need to increase their Internet to full speed also like 45Mbps.

LAN is the computers network that is limited to small office, single building, and multiple building inside a campus. For example the local meat market or the local college campus uses LAN. This network is usually private owned like the cable company and is maintain by a single organization. WAN is multiple LANs that are connect to each location to make the WAN connection for the company. There can be one location in New York, another in China, and a third in Washington. Each one will have their own LAN network that will need to be connected to the WAN using a third party to help with connecting them together. Wireless technology has no wires. Cables, or any other forms of electrical conductors to help them run. They need access points to connect to the LAN network. Depending on the building size and how the building is set up will depend on how many access points the company will need. With wireless communication the company will be able to go anywhere inside the company and have signal to do their job. They can connect device such as smart phones, tablets, and other devices.
