Gender Discrimination has been a big issue in our society specially for women and our country admitted that it must be removed. Such discrimination led the victims to have a poor performance at work, low self-motivation and stress both for male, female and transgender.

However, Pregnancy Discrimination is a type of employment discrimination that occurs when expectant women are fired, not hired or otherwise discriminated against due to their pregnancy or intention to become pregnant. It includes not being hired due to visible pregnancy or likelihood or becoming pregnant, being fired after informing an employer of one’s pregnancy, being fired after maternity leave and receiving a pay dock due to pregnancy.

While Pay Equity is the concept of labor rights that individuals in the same workplace be given equal pay. It relates to the full range of payments and benefits, including basic pay, non-salary payments, bonuses and allowances.

This study shows these discriminations that actually exists in a certain workplace which made this topic to be interesting. All of us will either seek for a permanent job or start our own business and considering all existing law regarding this is a must.

Everyone must be aware on how this discrimination affects all level of life. It doesn’t concern whether a person is rich or poor specially when it talks about business related issues or man power.      To answer and avoid such types of discrimination various laws were enforced to address this issue. This laws will protect those who are experiencing unfairness that affects them on having a normal life.

Introduction

To discriminate socially is to make a distinction between people on the basis of class or category without regard to individual merit.         Examples of such discrimination include racial, religious, sexual, weight, disability, ethnic, height-related, employment discrimination and age-related discrimination. The focus of this paper will relate to the laws of gender discrimination and pregnancy discrimination for pay equity. This will also give real life cases that is actually happening in the country. After reading this, readers will better understand the significance of Civil rights Act of 1964 and Bill of the Anti-Discrimination Act of 2017. Everyone must realize that all types of discrimination are serious         and gender discrimination and pregnancy discrimination is just perceptible part of much larger situation that remains hidden. This are not just those children picking each other, tease, torment and poke fun of things they perceive to be different. Its either you are teasing others or you are the one being teased. The question is, why does this kind of discrimination occur? What is it to discriminate others with our very own race, our very own kind living in a same country as we do? Or is it just showing the kind of mentality we have?

Gender discrimination refers to unjust rights between female and male roles that leads to disparate treatment in life. Discrimination could be based on social behavior such as nonconformance of gender roles including sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination. Sex or gender discrimination in employment involves treating someone unfavorably because of the person’s sex, whether they are applying for a job or are a current employee. History has portrayed women as the target for such types of discrimination for the most part. That’s no to say that men are exempt from being discriminated against on these grounds. In our society women are tend to be more discriminated against the working environment while men often face more criticism in home and family environments. For example, women are not born with the same physical capabilities as men are therefore, they are sometimes stereotyped as not being capable of accomplishing the same tasks. This is true in jobs where danger plays a significance role like police officers or fight fighters. Men on the other hand have been viewed as being unable to to effectively raise children. This is to show the traditional scenario in where women, taking care of the family and on the other had men, providing the needs of the family.
