Anne Mulcahy performed an admirable skill of leadership during the crisis of Xerox .She is a democratic leader as she encourages team members. In fact collaboration skills play a huge role in the success of Xerox and it is one of the main requirements that Mulcahy is looking for in her board. For example when working on a project sometimes one employee isn’t going to know everything they might need to .By collaborating with others in different departments, offices, skills can be pooled in order to make the project more successful that it might.
Mulcahy supports the idea of broad diversity and that women should be valued more in recruitment of board members. I think the real benefit of having women and diversity in a team is that you have a richer set of ideas .so I truly believe there is a direct relationship between team performance and having a diverse team with the best talents .Women bring a collaborative leadership style that benefits board dynamics by increasing the amount of listening, actively asking questions and raising different issues. Moreover, Mulchacy believes in treating her staff with dignity as the employees’ satisfaction is directly equivalent to satisfaction of customers. She kept a comfortable relationship with her staff and to ensure that she understood the situations in the corporation and boost employees ‘ loyalty and motivation .She managed to boost morale by giving workers a reason to be hopeful and committed to the company . An environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, where the talents and skills of different groups are valued and where productivity and customer service improves because workforce is happier more motivated and more aware of the benefits.
