Learning from Skydiving Course
Xiang Tang
The Ohio State University
This semester I take a very interesting course, that is, introduction for skydiving. In this course I learned a lot about the skills of skydiving and lesson in life.
The first lesson I learn from this course is that, you must prepare for everything for emergency. For skydiving, we will encounter many different situation and if we ignore any of steps before skydiving, we may face very bad result. Although life is not like skydiving, we still need to pay more attention for doing one thing. In the class, the instructor gave us many examples and experience to let us know what situation may happen when we skydiving. And he also tell us every solutions for certain situation. I think it is a good way to know that before skydiving. In our life, we also need to know how to face the every challenge and emergency situation. Meanwhile, I learned that I need to keep a peace and calm attitude when facing emergency. Because when you find your parachute cannot open, there is no use to cry and call, you must keep calm and come up with an idea or solution for the situation.
Another lesson I learned from this course is that, you must have your plan B when you start doing something. Just like skydiving, you never know what will happen next second and you will meet many trouble due to many reason such as temperature, weather or equipment. Thus, having a durable plan B is necessary and it may save your life when your plan A is useless. It is the same thing as life. Most of time we want to do something and want to do it well at once, but we always face the difficulties and we must learn from that. Thus, the practical way is to prepare a plan B when you do anything in your life. In this way, you can have more choice and you will do the thing more confidently.
