Welcome to the ghetto. A place that you will see a lot of illegal activities; these are typical grounds for drug usage and also distribution; the reasons why job shortage or lack of motivation from people who may not want to do better. When I look out my window, I notice a lot of young children in desperate need of attention and a better way to grow up. I also notice that the majority of the females that stay in my community have low self-esteem and looking for a drug dealer making quick cash to mate with and latch on to for various reasons, some for a father figure for their children, drug availability, money or sex. Living in the projects may seem like it has a problem all of its own; but there is more out here than meets the eye. One of the things that other things I have noticed is that the people in projects respect each other because they are dealing with many of the same issues and the closeness of the homes make it necessary for all of us to get along.

There's always someone trying to be involved in your personal business; like they don't have anything else to do. There are a lot of different beliefs about the ways of life and how a child should be raised. There are many kids playing outside, sitting back and looking at some of the kids that are riding their bikes, playing in the grass or just plain running around. They all seem to have the same look on their face is that they do not have a problem with their living condition. And the condition of where we live is no joke. We all hear about what goes on inside the projects and what we see on the news but you really don't know the complicated lives that we live until you are the ones that is in that environment. Everyday seems like one drama filled chapter after another one.

Of the many kids that are running around and there is no parent of any kind to be found. There is this little girl who always comes outside in her underwear. She goes up to anybody and asks them what is their name; I can hear this for my window that is cracked open. I am really afraid that someone will take this little girl away from her mother. The violence is so unreasonable that I am really afraid to be outside after a certain hour. The place that I live in is not safe.

As I look in the distance there are two men that are walking around with a radio with batteries in it any they are asking anyone if they would like to buy it. Now you tell me who would like to buy a cassette player that you don't know if the item has been
