Liverpool football club
The front-line activity that the football club does is to play football in English Premier League. That is to compete in the football game with another 37 teams in the league. Other activities are mainly backroom activities. They are engaging the right manager and coaching staffs for the club. Buying certain style and right skill football players for the club. Develop young football player through youth academic can be both hometown youth or bought over from overseas.
It is my interest to use this club for my ASM project. This is the football club that I have been follow since 1994. I like the way that the club display itself as a respectable club. Hence, I would like to find out more of how this club is running.
English football is a big business in England. It generates national revenue by selling the contract for TV viewing of the game. Insurance company is also benefited from the contract with players and the club. Tourism is also benefited as many people would like to watch the match live.
Recently, there is a take over of the club by 2 Americans who decided to co-own the club. Since then the club have made a point to sign long term contract with the important players and currently looking out for new players as addition to the club. The club is also moving strategically to keep the image of the club respectable and do not enjoy the violence or bad behaviour of the players. Some players who are trouble makers already been sold or stop their service.
