New Position: Logistics & Supply Chain General Manager

Since our snack food business commenced in 1990, we have become the one of leading food industry organization in Australia. Today our varied products are available cross the Asia Pacific region and generate sales at the retail market level of about $100 million. Due to our business currently face rapid growth in demand from the all markets, the company is going to dedicate more reform to our business structure. Thus company board has decided to create a new position for a head of logistics & supply chain management. We would like to advise as well as advertising externally also we will open this particular position up for internal staff to apply.

Logistics Management

Logistics management is the performance required to move and position inventory throughout a supply chain. In our company this is the part of the supply chain which plans, implements and controls the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow and storage of goods, services and related information between the point of our suppliers and the point of consumption in order to meet customers' requirements. It will ensure allocating our production & distribution activities be fulfilled in an efficient way so that can meet our customer & company expectations.

Definition of Supply Chain Management

Supply chain management encompasses the planning and management of all activities involved in sourcing and procurement, conversion, and all logistics management activities. Importantly, it also includes coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, third party service providers, and customers. In essence, supply chain management integrates supply and demand management within and across companiesÐ'©. (CSCMP defined)

How this role is applied to our company

This senior manager role will develop and manage our suppliers and materials planning function for goods and materials demanded by company. Create integrated processes among our production operations, purchasing, warehouse, transportations and outside suppliers to execute the planning / replenishment process. Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to our supply chain planning / forecasting; measure actual performance against goals on regular basis to meet our KPI’s.

The purpose for creating this position is also for achieving our business success goal, build, refine and drive a strategy to deliver significant reengineering opportunity, cost savings and provide leadership to the preparation of the production schedules to ensure that we are delivering the highest level of service to our customers at all times.

This position plays a key role in implementing three of the corporation’s social and ethical responsibilities, protecting our environment and reputation for our growing business.

Key Accountabilities:

Key activities for logistics and Supply general manager position will include:

• Develop Supplier's supply management system

• Develop and implement change and drive company strategy.

• Lead on execution plan for all supply chain initiatives.

• Work with finance management team to manage breakage, damage and loss to planned levels.

• Work with sales & marketing department to better manage merchandising costs.

• Drive warehouse lower loading costs.

• Leverage Logistics systems and tools.

• Manage, operate and review our business environment.
