Lord of the Flies

In Lord of the Flies a group of boys get stuck on an island without adults and try to create a society. There are two boys who think they are the leaders, Jack and Ralph. Ralph is the real leader but then later Jack separates from them and becomes the leader of his own group. Two boys get killed, Piggy and Simon by accident. An officer rescues them because they see a big fire that Jack starts to kill Ralph.

The boys try to make a society on the island and make it organized. They start a thing where if you have the conch then you can talk. The conch is a shell you blow into, to make order or hold. Some of the boys don't like this and separate from them and start their own tribe, Jack's tribe. They boys try to hunt a beast that's not real throughout the whole book. They thinks Simon, a young boy, is the beast in the night and accidentally kills him. Then later another boy is killed, Piggy, because a huge boulder falls on him and makes him fall to the water. Most of Ralph tribe was gone and then Jacks tribe tries to kill Ralph by starting a fire. The fire set the whole on fire and then an officer sees it and rescues them.

Jack and Ralph are the two boys in the beginning of the book who want to become the leaders, Ralph becomes the leader. These two boys are very independent and are not followers. When Ralph becomes leader Jack gets angry. Piggy is a short fat kid who is very smart but no ones listens to him. Simon is a little boy who is mostly off to the side the whole book until he's killed. He spent a lot of time in the forest alone. Roger is the one who kills Piggy by pushing a boulder on him. He was angry at Piggy and didn't think of his actions.

The moral of the story is that you cannot

really trust anyone if your fighting for survival. Everyone is on their own and there isn't
