Love is the single thing in life that one strives for the most, even though it may be the hardest to find. The dictionary defines love as "A deep, tender, overwhelming feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person," but in order to fully understand this meaning, one must feel the extraordinary power of love.

Love is faith. Even though faith can refer to a relationship a person has with a particular God, it should not be limited to religious deities. Faith can be applied to ordinary person-to-person relationships as well. In a marriage, faith reflects on whether or not your partner will be monogamous and supportive. In other relationships, one must have faith that the loved one will be honest with you.

Love is passion. It is that butterfly feeling when gazing into your loved one's eyes. Their warm, genuine smile could brighten days and bring laughter to your heart.

Love is commitment. To love someone means to commit oneself with assurance, to give yourself completely in the hope that your love will produce love in the other person. Commitment is a necessity in building a long-lasting, healthy relationship. Without commitment, love would not be able to begin or flourish. Commitment is the ability to take a risk and to accept the consequences of possible disappointment. Commitment is demanding, yet rewarding.

Love is confidence: confidence in yourself and confidence in your partner. Before expressing emotional thoughts, assurance in one's actions is necessary.

Love is sharing. Sharing is being honest with one and allowing the other person to explore your character. It means to share one's life, emotions, joys, and downfalls. Sharing takes strength and courage, and will keep a relationship growing. Learning to share one's past, present, and future with another person demands proper communication.
