Lsu Will Win The Championship

LSU has a very realistic chance to win the BCS Championship Game this year. My gut feeling is that they are on a crash-course to play Ohio St. in the title game, and I'm not alone in my prediction. Many of the college football analysts, such as Ivan Maisel and Mark Schlabach from ESPN.com, are predicting the same match up in the championship. LSU is ranked #2 in the poll and will win its remaining three regular season games against Louisiana Tech, Mississippi, and Arkansas and then follow that up with a decisive win over Georgia, Tennessee, or Florida in the SEC Championship Game. If that happens, LSU will crush Ohio St. to take home the top prize. Here are the reasons why I think LSU will win the BCS Championship game over Ohio St.

The BCS Championship game will be in New Orleans this year, making it a home game for LSU. The home field advantage, specifically the benefits from crowd noise when Ohio St is trying to run its offense, will be paramount. LSU's defense will get a big boost from the crowd, as if they needed it.

LSU is battle-tested and the best team in the toughest conference. They have five quality wins over top 20 teams, where as Ohio St has only three and those wins are Purdue, Wisconsin, and Penn State. I think LSU is better because they've got more wins over good opponents. Frankly, it's hard to tell how good/bad Ohio St. is because they haven't played any good teams yet. If it comes down to LSU vs. Ohio State in the championship game, then I'm definitely going to drop some coin down on LSU. I'll give the points to Ohio State as long as LSU is a 7 point favorite or less.
