In tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, lady Macbeth had a major influence on Macbeth for doing something that he wish to be. Macbeth want to be a king but the one way to be a king is to murder the current king. During the play Macbeth is debating about committing a murder of the king. lady Macbeth make the plans of how to killed the king and tell about it Macbeth. Lady Macbeth does not trust Macbeth to act on his ambition because he having a negative thought and he is sympathetic. [c][d]
One of the reason why lady Macbeth didn’t trust Macbeth to act on his ambition is because he is having negative thoughts. During act 1 Macbeth over analyzed about if he should or shouldn’t kill the king. In act 1 scene 7 line 58-61 Macbeth says, "If we should fail, we fail but screw your courage to sticking place and we'll not fail." Macbeth was putting negative excuses so he won't have to kill the king but lady Macbeth was trying to say to him to get himself together and we wont fail it. In act 1 scene 7 lines 46-48 Macbeth says,"prithee ,peace I dare do all that may become a man who dares do more is none."Macbeth trying to say that a regular men wouldn't do the things that he was about to do. He is debating if he should or shouldn’t do it as a real men. This is why lady Macbeth doesn't trust him ambition.
The other reason lady Macbeth didn’t trust Macbeth to act on his ambition was because he was too sympathetic. In act 1 scene 7 line12-14 Macbeth says" he's here in double trust: first, as I am his kinsman and subject strong both against the dee: as his host." He trying to say that the king has trusting him as a friend and he doesn't want to lose his trust. He is afraid to lose the friendship.In act 1 scene 5 line 13 -14 lady Macbeth says, "it is too full o'th milk of human kindness. lady Macbeth is describing how her husband is too kindness and straightforward to do not bad things. lady Macbeth knows that her husband is too kind for his ambition.
