Magical Worlds of the Wizard of Ads

1. Speaking Worlds into Existence

Humans have the ability to tell a story or describe a past experience to another, and essentially speak a new world into existence.

2. Perceptual Realities

Everybody in the world sees things from their own perspective. Instead of expecting everyone to see something your way, you should take a step back and look at all of the different perspectives; if you're patient enough things will begin to make a lot more sense.

3. Time and perceptual reality

The first three dimensions that make up our universe consist of, height, width, and depth, however, because all movement happens in space there is a fourth dimension, time. According to Einstein, "time stands still at the speed of light," it marks and measures time. As time moves on you can see the choices you've made or can make in the future and it enables you to understand how those choices have or will affect you in your life. "And it is through our choices that our values and beliefs are revealed. What we say and do depends upon what we believe. Just by watching the way someone acts you can figure out what they believe in. The Four dimensions make up our reality; however, if the last dimension, time, is taken out then you're left with a three-dimensional reality; a reality outside of time. "Height, width, and depth are the realm of the dorsolateral prefrontal association area of the brain;" imagination. Imagination is where your personal, three-dimensional realities are created and lived; a majority of your life is lived in a three-dimensional reality. The fourth-dimension simply comes in when one person's three-dimensional realities overlap with someone else's.

4. Will You Ever Face Reality?

Persuading another human is really simple. All it is is successfully introducing mental images artistically presented to another person creating a strong perceptual reality; also known as a three-dimensional reality. Perceptual realities are nothing more than imaginings or mental images. In order to persuade someone you need to make them imagine what you want them to do; you can't communicate or give people pure, objective facts, you have to imagine them. The outside world is not really was we see it; we see only what we recognize. In all actuality, the universe is colorless, odorless, insipid, and silent we just see it the way we do because of our senses. We experience electromagnetic waves was images and colors, and vibrations as sounds. All smells and tastes come from the chemical compounds dissolved in the air and water. "In the world of perceptual reality, there is no one with higher authority than you." Because everyone sees things from different perspectives, it's up to the persuader to make the person see things their way."

5. Reality Begins with Imagination

Everything in life starts with an idea, whether it be starting a huge business, or painting a romantic fantasy. The only thing standing in the way of making these ideas reality is the amount of energy you put into it, especially emotional energy. "Studies have shown that the emotion accompanying an idea or image causes it to realize itself;" basically, the more emotion the faster the idea becomes reality. If you use music to induce your emotions, you give your fantasy a new indifferent and single-minded energy that can push it straight into your life. "Like some mythological beast - half speech, half music - songs have a seemingly magical power to revive long-forgotten memories and give voice to our deepest feelings." Songs and music speak directly to more structured parts of the brain bringing to the surface strongly felt emotional responses and reliving past events and memories, "and conveying powerful messages while essentially bypassing the rational, analytical areas of the mind." Everybody has an "Inner Critic;" the inner critic is that annoying little voice in the back of your head saying you don't deserve love, good health, or success; one thing to remember is this is only the opinion part of your brain, the left brain. However, there's a whole other side of your brain that doesn't make judgments. This is where songs are comprehended and makes the deepest impact. Although you need both sides of your brain to understand spoken words, most of this activity is done in the left side. When the words are sung as appose to just being said, the whole process changes and the words are processed through the right side. The left side of your brain deals with sensibility, and factuality and the right brain is illogical and intuitive.

6. Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right

Your brain is split into two key segments called hemispheres; the left side concentrating with more logical, unimaginative and factual concepts, where the right side is more intuitive, chaotic and particular. Depending on which side you prefer using establishes a great amount of your personality and behavior. "If you react to life using your left-hemisphere abilities (analysis and logic), you are "left-brain dominant." If you use the right side more (emotion and intuition), you're "right-brain dominant."" Some have the ability to "switch" sides depending on which is more suitable for any given moment, "the mark of a balanced and well-adjusted individual." American society has been known to favor the styles of thinking from the left side of the brain. "It came to us as standard equipment when we adopted the English language." Scientists began to change their thinking process in accord Nance with English; this didn't mean English was better than any other language only that it's better to use in scientific research. It makes sense as to why French, Italian, Spanish, Latin, and Portuguese are considered "romantic" languages, as they use more of the right-brain.

7. Music, Math, and the Mind

Harvard Medical School did a study showing that parts of the brains in musicians grow 7% larger then other nonmusical people. "Researchers from the University of California found that second-graders who took piano lessons averaged 27% higher scores on math skills than their nonmusical friends." Those given the most rigorous music training scored highest of all. "Math is a language like English, French, or Chinese, except it's much more precise." In this "language of math,"
