Major League Baseball

Major league baseball was created in 1871. One of the first established team to take effect in the new league was the Chicago White stockings. During this time there were only white players. As the sport progressed, many things changed. In fact baseball was segregated, African Americans had to form there separate league called the Negro League. Over the span of year's baseball integrated. The talent level in the Negro League was so high that it wasn't smart to segregate them from the Major League. Black integration of baseball in Chicago affected society, the sport and individual players.

We learned that Black integration in baseball affected individual players in the sport of baseball. The players weren't used to having a migrated sport. Teams didn't accustom to black baseball players because during the time of the integration there was an ongoing civil rights movement, racism was active. One of the first black players to integrate in Chicago baseball was minnie minoso, he's a global and iconic figure to the sport.

We learned a lot about rube foster and the dominant team in baseball in his team. Rube foster assembled the greatest baseball team ever, the Chicago American giants, they were a All African American team. Rube foster was inducted in the National hall of fame in 1981. The Chicago American giants won titles in 1920,1921,and 1992, and they beat the Bacharach Giants of Atlantic City in the colored World Series. We learned that this affected Chicago integration in many ways because people saw what talents black players had compared to white players.

Black baseball integration affected the sport in many ways, we learned that as early as 1867 the country's first organized league the National Association of Baseball players rejected applications of African-American team for club status. The majors were severely segregated, during the time of the integration there was segregation of blacks and whites in the country. The civil rights movement and racism was active during the time, so the sport didn't accept desegregation very well. We learned that up until 1945 the sport was segregated. The General Manager of the Brooklyn dodgers was fed up with high cost of players in the majors so he turned to the negro leagues to look for lower-priced talent. It gradually revolved
