Well-Packaged Product
The well-packaged product that I chose is Maruchan’s chicken flavored instant lunch. This instant lunch is made up of ramen noodles in a chicken broth with vegetables and can be prepared instantly by just adding water. There are many reasons as to why I’ve chosen this product. The nicest thing about this package is that you don’t need a bowl to prepare or eat it. As a college student, I don’t want to have to wash a lot of dishes so this is ideal for me. Also, the cardboard wrap provides a visual of the noodles in an appetizing way. It also clearly displays that you get 10% more ramen, zero grams of trans fat, and that it prepares in three minutes. All three of these are positive selling points that grab the consumer’s attention and also help motivate them to buy this particular ramen.
While there are far more positives to this products packaging than there are negatives. After I had prepared the ramen and was eating it, I wanted to look at the nutrition facts. Unfortunately, the company didn’t print the nutrition facts on cup inside, just on the outer cardboard wrap. While this isn’t a huge drawback, it is pretty inconvenient to have to search through the trash for the cardboard wrap. My two suggestions to Maruchan for their ramen noodles would be to print the nutrition facts on both the outer wrap and on the cup itself and to increase the size of the cup. I was still hungry after eating it.
