Everyone has this question of what marijuana actually is. Usually one would think that everybody knows. But the actual truth, is not many people know what marijuana is. Marijuana is a mixture of leaves, stems, and flowering top's of the Indian plant Cannabis sativia. Its chemical ingredients include the "psychoactive THC- known as tetrahydrocannabinol", which is concentrated in the flowering tops. Marijuana grows only in certain temperate regions, particularly dry and hot lands. Except for limited medical purposes, marijuana is illegal in almost all, but a few countries.Marijuana, other wise known as "pot", "grass", "weed", "reefer", "hash", "tree's", "ace", "cannabis", "joint" "J", "boo" and "Colombian". There are even more names for this distinct drug that people use for it also. These terms all coincide wit the major issue, marijuana. Most people think that smoking marijuana is not as bad for you as smoking a cigarette. This is not exactly true. Marijuana has many long term and short term effects.Marijuana has many effects on the brain. In marijuana the substance that gets you "high" is THC. This substance suppresses the neurons in the information-processing system of the hippocampus or the part of the brain that is crucial for learning, memory, senses.
The history of marijuana is quite interesting.The drug marijuana has been used since the ancient Chinese as an intoxicant, and is still in use today. The history of marijuana has a wide colorful history. From medical uses to recreational and sometime even used to make crude tools. It is much safer than almost all legal substances to date.
