Why Marijuana Should Be Legal
In today's world there are an infinite amount of drugs. Some drugs are legal, while others are illegal. Marijuana is an illegal drug that should be legalized. Many drugs that are illegal can be fatal and addictive but marijuana doesn't fall into the same categories as the other illegal drugs. This drug is a drug that is often used as a recreational drug, but has gained a reputation of being "bad", that people have overlooked the good that can come from it. Marijuana has been proven useful in the medical fields for treating certain illnesses.
Marijuana is a drug that is derived from a plant called cannabis. There are more than 400 different chemicals in which over 60 are considered cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are specific chemicals that are derived from the cannabis plant. This plant has small crystals on it, called THC crystals. These THC crystals are what gives marijuana its ability to get a user or smoker high. This is also why the plant has been deemed illegal. This cannabis plant isn't any more harmful than smoking a cigarette.
The main reason marijuana is illegal, is because it is a substance that modifies a persons reaction in vision, judgment, and other areas. If you compare the effect of marijuana to drinking alcohol, then there isn't any reason alcohol should be legal and marijuana isn't. After smoking marijuana a person may feel euphoric, dizzy or relaxed. In many studies patients have shown increase in appetite, dry mouth, sleepiness, and an increase in socialization. There should be rules and regulations placed on marijuana that could enable it to be legal. Age regulations like tobacco could be placed on marijuana along with driving laws like those with alcohol.
