Case 2 itemized questions
Please use SPSS outputs to answer the following questions:
1. Can you summarize the reasons why members use other financial institutions when they need to borrow funds? What recommendation would you give to credit union? Members use other financial institutions to borrow funds because this credit union has bad rates. The mean for loan rates is 3.062 (3.00 is uncertain, 5 is strongly agree). We run the one sample t-test against 3, and its not significantly better than 3. So this service must be improved. Loan rates ranked the lowest among the other services, but we also test the load applications with a mean of 3.4609 against 3. The p-value is .000 so we can say this one is significantly higher.
2. How would you summarize the member attitudes and beliefs about the proficiencies of credit union employees? The over all employee proficiency had a mean of 4.2051, and 4.00 is our test value. With a p-value .000, we can say that overall the members are satisfied with the employee proficiencies. We can say with 95% confidence that the average person would rate between a 4.1 Ð'-and 4.3 with 5 being "Strongly agree".
3. Do you think there are any perceived differences on perceived employee proficiencies between members who live in the area of the firm's headquarters and members who live elsewhere? No. With an independent sample t-test we got a p-value of .951, we accept the null and can say almost for certain that there is no significant relationship between employee proficiencies and whether or not members live in the headquarters are.
4. Can you summarize member awareness of the services offered by the credit union? What recommendation would you give to credit union? Since the mean of the member awareness of some important services such as regular share accounts, IRA loans, share collateralized loans and recreational loans are very low, we would recommend the credit union to advertise and promote these services more, and the very highly aware services such as lines of credit, credit cards, new car loans and signature loans don't need any additional promotion. Also, there seems to be a big jump between master card and new car loans, so we do a paired sample t-test between them and we get a p-value of .009 so we can reject the null and say there is a big jump
5. how would you summarize question 9 ? The mean for the members rating of their statement frequency is 3.2266, and we are using 3 (about right) as the hypothesized value in a one sample t-test. With a p-value of .000, we can say for certain that there is a significant difference, and that statement frequency must be improved on by the credit union. We can say with 95% confidence that the average person would answer between 3.15 to 3.3 when testing against 0.
6. Do you think there is link between question 27 and whether he or she lives in the headquarters area? No, with a p-value of .941, we accept the null that there is no significant relationship whether or not the people live in the headquarters area and if they have a loan with the credit union.
