Employee Motivation
Employees are the backbone of InterClean and in order for them to perform to the best of there ability InterClean needs to find different ways of motivating them. Employees will need to work together as a team in order for the change to be effective.
The scenario spoke about recruiting key sales team leaders to get the message across that no employee will be terminated with the new transition in order to motivate the employees. (University of Phoenix, 2007, email to Janet Durham from Carol Stanley).
They need to believe that they will be effective in the work roles called for in the new organization and that being effective in these roles will lead to desired outcomes. Communication
InterClean will need to inform employees of there decisions to expand the company. This will lesson rumors and help employees to understand the reasons behind the new vision for the company.
In the scenario employees were overheard talking about the changes of InterClean and apparently they were concerned for there jobs within the company and voiced there concerns to each other. (University of Phoenix, 2007, Memorandum dated February 3, 2005).
Creating this vision of the future requires showing individuals and groups how they will fit into that future. (Dreher & Dougherty, 2001, p.42)

Training
InterClean employees will need additional training in order for them to be effective with there jobs.
In the scenario Janet Durham suggested that the training strategy will need to be looked into because of the tight budget that InterClean had to work with. She recommended focusing more of the budget on training managers to implement the changes (University of Phoenix, 2007, Memorandum dated February 1, 2005).
In addition to the ability and willingness to perform duties associated with the assembly process, these employees would need skills that allow them to be effective team members. Oral and written communication skills, the ability to work with and train others and a willingness to be good organizational citizens would be required in this type of team environment. (Dreher & Dougherty, 2001, p.36) It works to simplify and narrow tasks so that employees with little training and experience will be able to perform prescribed duties. This leads to lower training costs and lower wages. (Dreher & Dougherty, 2001, p.22)
