A modern day hero wasn't easily identified prior to the 9/11 incidents. If someone were to ask me this question prior to those incidents, I would not have been able to answer it. After I witnessed the devastating tragedy that occurred that day, I realized that average man had the ability to become a hero. The firemen and police men of New York City demonstrated courage and bravery, just like those heroes we've heard stories of. The only difference was that the hero's of New York City didn't have super human strength, they had heart. They wanted to help the trapped people, save as many as they could. Their safety was the last thing on their minds; it was all about the drive to help those that needed it that unforgivable day.

Jesus is a hero that most people around the world are familiar with. Jesus sacrificed his own life to save human kind. The firemen and police officers that worked on September 11th 2001 scarified their own lives for the well being of the people of their city. They put their fears behind and tried to save as many people as they could. The bible teaches that Jesus went through the torcher and demeaning acts for us, the people of the world. He was crucified for our sins. The last thing that Jesus said on the cross was "Forgive them Father for they know not what they are doing". When Jesus said this, it was obvious that he was doing it for us. Jesus wanted God to forgive us, because we were blind in the act's that had happened leading up to his crucifixion and death.
